I met up with my friend, Still Born, in the streets to have a look at the Intua Beatmaker app for the iPhone. In this video you can see how responsive the Pads are just like an Akai MPC, as well as sample previewing and slicing and chopping of your samples.

Q-Tip’s new video ‘Renaissance Rap’ for his new album ‘The Renaissance’ has him finding an AKAI MPC 2000XL waiting to be snatched up. After grabbing it, the feds catch up to him in an dead-end alley as they seem to be a pulling out a weapon. Q-Tip then covers his face with the MPC. The feds then pull out the new Q-Tip album. The album cover has him holding the same MPC he is holding to his face in the alley. The end. Cool video and cinematography. Check it out below.

Roger Linn is a musical instrument designer, primarily designing electronic drum machines.

In 1979, Roger Linn introduced the LM-1 Drum Computer via his company Linn Electronics, located in Tarzana, California. It became an instant success, as it was the first ever programmable drum machine pre-loaded with samples pre-recorded from session drummer James Gadson.

Roger would then release the LinnDrum to follow the LM-1

Following the success of the LM and LinnDrum, Roger would go on to design and be one of the key men behind the popular AKAI MPC60 drum sampler machine.
