Though it seems a bit more complex than Intua’s Beatmaker app, the iZotope iDrum Beatboxer will surely give you more options for your Mobile Music Production Sampling experience.

As shown in the video, samples can be recorded directly into individual pads. Take a look!

The release of the latest OS update for the iPhone (OS 3.0) will further add to the advancement of the mobile music making scene as a number of new features have birthed into a pocket near you. The iPhone/iPod Touch series continues to grow into becoming an integral component of the New Music Production Recording environment, found in todays Pro-Indie music studios across the globe- regardless of its miniature size.

As we’ve shown in our Alesis ProTrack Review Series, the possibilities are virtually unlimited, as you can for instance:

- record your band’s guitarist on the go while in your tour bus/van to then later listen to it before your live gig.

- record your friends’ vinyl record turntable with your iPod into a full .WAV file for sampling, or just to simply listen to it as you would an MP3.

- make music with the amazing Intua Beatmaker and NoiseIO applications while waiting for a movie to begin or while on the road to your live gig.

3 POINT OH

Now with the release of the latest OS 3.0 for the iPhone, I am certain it will (and continue to) add value and inspiration to all of your musical works. Amazingly enough, you can now record, edit and upload video…on the go with the new iPhone 3G S….Behind the Scenes/VIP Fan Videos anyone? Wow!!!

Additionally, you can also record Voice Notes and create a BackStage Music Journal for your Fans and Subscribers to listen to.

As mentioned, the possibilities are virtually unlimited. Apple has done it again – it’s that simple!

Here is a video of us recording the amp of an amazing guitarist – you can also listen to more of the recording below the video.

RECORD is the new Software Recording Studio developed by Propellerhead Software, the makers of Reason. It will feature unlimited recording tracks, world-class FX and Mixing gear, and a promises a whole new take on music recording.

After watching the video, I have to admit that RECORD will be a contender in the growing Pro-Indie music recording community as more and more artists are investing in home/mobile studio gear and computers for their music recording projects.

Oddly enough, existing Reason users who have had to opt-into recording audio tracks using a separate application such as Logic Pro, FL Studio (MICVOX Template) or Pro Tools, may find themselves having to learn an entirely new but familiar user interface just as they make their beats/instrumentals in – Reason.

Check it out for yourself (promo vid) and stay tuned to SampleSimple for more news on RECORD.

Check out this post with video of RECORD in action.

Though I wish you could simply right click a Marker and select a Mixer Insert from that Markers menu in SliceX, the new FL Studio 8.5 Public Beta has a much quicker way (than FL8) for routing (Output Track Offset) your SliceX markers to a desired Mixer Insert. This is ideal when working with any kind of samples, especially drums. (ex. a Kick slice routed to Mixer Insert 2 with Reverb – Snare slice routed to Insert 3 with Delay – and so on…)

In the current FL Studio 8, you’d have to scroll through the Mixer Insert numbers which would be a pain if you had to route to lets say Insert…54. By the time you get there, you’d have had to extend your arm forward with your mouse or ease up your mouse, bring your arm back to then continue scrolling. Not anymore!!!! But again, it would be great if you could just right click the Marker and select the Mixer Insert from the Marker’s menu. This is also cool when building your own custom drumkits in SliceX.

Playback in FL Studio has just become a lot simpler. With the release of FL Studio 8.5 Public Beta, the Pattern and Song mode Playback has been greatly improved – this will definitely improve any Producers workflow utilizing FL Studio.

The Pattern and Song Modes which correspond respectively to the Step Sequencer and Playlist windows, now sport their own PLAY buttons. Awesome!

You can simply play single patterns when building a cool drum loop or play a full song by clicking the respective Play buttons (yellow arrows).

When you click and select one of the Play buttons on the Step Sequencer or Playlist, the main audio playback in FL Studio will reflect whichever Play button was last clicked.

it’s that simple!
